My girlfriend is German and we've been together for 2 years now. She has been living here since March 28th 2016 and we started dating on February 13th, 2015. There was a total of approximately 9 weeks of her visiting in 2015 to Canada.
We're trying to figure out common-law for Quebec which is extremely confusing. We are living together, share expenses, have photos, mail, bills, everything showing we're living together except we don't own anything together, don't have one another on insurances/beneficiaries, she's not technically on my lease, etc...
When can we apply for common-law and will this help her stay (as a visitor) or work (hopefully) beyond the expiry of her IEC in about 1.5 months?
