Common Law PNP sponsoring

Hello! First of all thanks so much for everyone's input on here, it's very helpful while dealing with our PNP application.

So, our situation is the following.
My boyfriend is a UK citizen who has submitted his skilled worker PNP application for BC back in May. We are patiently awaiting a response. We have not yet flown over to Canada as we are awaiting a response, and then get our permits directly at the airport when landing.
He has included me in his application as his common law partner, as we have cohabited for 2 years and have been together for 3. However, as part of the PNP application there was only some forms to be filled out by me (his partner) including my details etc, but at no point we were asked to submit further proof of our common law relationship. I was under the impression that once he gets his nomination support letter, we can show this at the airport, he can get his permit, and I can get an open work permit for the same duration as his work permit. Am I correct?
Since submitting the application (and processing times increasing so much), we have broken cohabitation as I had some issues to deal back in my home country, and we are concerned this will affect my chances of getting an open work permit on the back of his PNP nomination. We are aware that he can't probably sponsor me for PR after, but we just wanted to know whether I can still get my permit after his nomination?
Any advice from those who have been in a similar situation is greatly appreciated! Thank you!!

Has anyone out there been in this position?? Common-law of a PNP applicant?
What have their experiences been at POE when trying to obtain OWP?

Also, when filling out my details on my partner's application, I put down my main nationality (Argentinian) although I have double nationality (Spanish). Now, Argentina is not a visa exempt country but Spain is, does this mean they will ask for a temporary visitor visa at point of entry to issue an open work permit, or can I just show my Spanish passport as proof of my double nationality? Thanks!

PS. failing to know whether I can use my double nationality at point of entry, can anyone advise where I can write to CIC to enquire about this particular situation?
