COMMON LAW PARTNERSHIP

hi im a 23 year old girl from philippines with a common law partner, aged 25, for 14 months already. both of us are registered nurses but unfortunately our current work is not related to our profession. i would like to apply for a resident visa in order for me and my partner to take exam for nurses in canada and eventually work there. ofcourse, i would like to bring my partner with me (me as the primary sponsor).

i have my 1st degree cousin to sponsor me. his status is resident already but i think he is not financially capable now. i am thinking that i can still use my cousin's status just to prove i have relaive in canada then will use the "show money" procedure to prove we can support ourselves when we get there. is it possible?

and do you think i can bring my partner with me? the only proof we can show are receipts named in either one of us and addressed in our apartment, letter coming from the owner of our apartment, letter from our parents and close friends, and some pictures. we have different bank accounts :( and the electric bill is named under the owner of the apartment. is that enough?

I don't believe that cousins can sponsor for family PR applications, therefore you would have to obtain PR in canada via a working visa or some other way.

It might best if you post in this board http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/skilled-worker-professional-immigration-b4.0/ to find out the information you are after as I believe there are different processes for skilled worker and then they may know if you can bring over your boyfriend as well.

You would not be able to bring over your boyfriend under spousal PR application unless you were already a PR.
