Hi all,
Does anybody know of a case where somebody has had their study permit accepted but the common-law partner that wishes to go with the student has been rejected?
My situation is such that my partner who has been accepted to study in Canada is applying to study with myself as a common law partner as I will be the sponsor for her studies (affidavit, proof of funds for 1st year of studies can all be demonstrated). However, we are from different countries and haven't lived together for 12 months.
My biggest concern is just whether me applying as a common-law partner could jeopardize her own application as a student. Any help would be most appreciated.
Thanks,
