Hi,

I want to apply as a common-law partner sponsorship.

I do not want to name a Representative.

Should I fill the IMM5476 to appoint my sponsor to act on my behalf?

Or I should fill the IMM5475 (Authority to Release Personal Information to a Designated Individual) that authorizes my sponsor to get information about the apllication processing?

Are these 2 apps interchangeable?

Thank you

its not mandatory you appoint the sponsor as a representative......however, if you appoint the sponsor as a rep.....they will be able to conduct on your behalf with IRCC......to appoint your sponsor as rep, you must fill IMM5466

Who is a representative?
A representative is someone who gives advice, consultation, or guidance to you at any stage of the application process, or in a proceeding and, if you appoint him or her as your representative by filling out this form, has your permission to do business on your behalf with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA)

You do not need to hire a representative. We treat everyone equally, whether they use a representative or not.
