Hi everyone,

I know that one of the requirements to be accepted as a common-law partner is having been living with your partner for at least a year. My boyfriend is from England and I'm from South Korea, we've been together 4 years, but we are in a long-distance relationship due to Covid. I'm waiting for the government to announce an FSW draw because my points are 502, and my boyfriend is a family doctor and he's already signed the contract with an agency in Canada so it will be easier for him to sponsor me instead of waiting for FSW draw...
However, the only time we have lived together was in London for 6 months... is being in a relationship for 4 years still not sufficient to be accepted as a common-law partner unless you haven't lived a year together? Anyone who's successfully sponsored/ been sponsored without having lived for a year?

Your advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
