Hi guys! What does CIC acknowledge as common law partners? Me and my partner has a child but living together for 6 months. I informed CIC about my child who was born in Canada 6 months ago and the father is in the birth certificate but not included in the application. Are we a common law partners already since we have a child?
Another thing is the relationship doesn't seem to work for a lot of reasons. So we are now separated and planning to marry ex-boyfriend and wanted to include him in my application. I had my medical done and received status but still waiting RPRF/biodata/PPR request. Is it okay to do that or it will complicates my application? Please advise. Thanks

CIC Definition = 12 continuous months of cohabitation. At the moment, you don't qualify.

Obviously it will delay your application if you get married and update your status. Your ex-boyfriend needs to have a medical exam and also need to submit PCC and fill up some forms..

Note that, as far as I am aware, nobody can be added to your application once a decision has been made.
You would have to start all over again from the beginning.
