Hey everyone, I’m back with a few more questions (sorry!) regarding common law Outland sponsorship. I’ll give some background info before my question:
My boyfriend is a Canadian citizen and we have been living together for 12 months in Canada and will be applying for common law in the coming weeks. We have decided to apply via outland rather than inland because I wanted to go back home to Korea for a few months while the application is being processed to visit my family (he will be staying in Canada). So therefore, we would be submitting the application while I am in Canada...
My questions are:
1. Will I still be able to apply via outland if I’m submitting the application while I’m in Canada, even if I’m leaving the country for a few months?
2. This is probably a stupid question... but how exactly do I choose to apply via outland instead of inland? The main PDF application (document checklist) gives me three options: it asks if I’m living in Canada (which I currently am), then I would have to mail my application to Mississauga. What confuses me here is that I’ve heard that outland applications are sent to Nova Scotia, and inland is sent to Mississauga. The other two options are for “family class” sponsorships rather than “common law” class, therefore essentially requiring me to choose the initial option. I probably haven’t explained this well, so I’ve attached a photo of what I am talking about. So I guess my question here is.. how do I apply via outland? If this isn’t the way, is there another form where I declare that I want to apply via outland?
3. My PGWP expires in August. I shouldn’t have any problems coming back to Canada after August even if it is expired as I would have implied status right (unless that’s an express entry only thing)? Or would I have to apply for a visa later?
This is what I am referring to for question 2:
Thanks again for all of your help, and sorry for all of the constant questions/threads!!
