As always, thanks in advance for the advice given. My partner and I would like to start the process for our Common Law PR sponsorship now that we have lived together for 12 months and have gathered what we think is enough evidence to support our application. She is Canadian and I am a US Citizen and she obviously will be sponsoring me. I do have a few questions:

1. My divorce in the US is not yet finalized, it's become a long and drawn out affair with court dates being stretched out. Nothing we can do. I do have legal separation status. Can I proceed with the sponsorship application whilst my divorce is pending? My partner was also previously married, but has her divorce documentation.
2. We are expecting our first child and very excited. Do we list this on the application at all?
3. My partner owns our home in Canada, so no lease exists. Does she submit an affidavit to support this

Thank you for your time.

1. Yes, you can apply as common-law while waiting for your divorce to come through. Include the divorce paperwork.

2. You don't have to menton the pregnancy but it wouldn't hurt.

3. It depends on what you have for common-law proofs. If you already have strong proofs, an affidavit isn't necessary.
