Hi everybody,

I am just new here and decided to join since the forums seem to be very helpful. I hope you could help me with this.

I am a foreign worker and I met this guy whom I fell in love with and he also fell in love with me after 6 yrs of him being able to admit to himself that he really loves someone. I have a work permit valid until May 2018 and we are planning to file an inland common law sponsorship late this year so that we could stay together. We both agreed that we're going down the right path. I am close to his family and he is also close to mine. We have been together for around 18 mos now and we've been living together since July 1st 2016. However, I have concerns:

1. When I renewed my work permit this April 2017, we were not yet officially common law so I did not declare it on my renewal this April because we were not yet official common law at that time because it has not been 12mos yet. Will we have a problem with that? Or can we just explain that we were both thinking that the official common law is 12mos living together and by the time I filed my work permit, it wasnt 12mos yet? We have shared savings and paying the rent half half and we go to small and big events together and everything else is marriage like.

2. What requirements do I have to submit aside from the birth certificate and police clearance?

3. The OWP is extended until December 21, 2017. Is it okay to submit it a week before or how much amount of time should we give for it before the 21st of December for us to qualify for OWP?

Thank you so much! I hope you could help us with this. We are very much in love with each other and we both admit that we have never felt like this with anybody and seeing each other in the future together.
