Hi,

I'm from Romania and me and my common-law partner received an ITA and the documents checklist. It is mentioned there that we must complete the Statutory Declaration of Common Law IMM5409. It seems that the declaration must be given in front of a Commissioner of oaths/Notary Public/Commissioner of Taking Affidavits. We can't find a notary that is willing to sign the declaration.
What can we do in this situation?

Thank you for your help!

Some people have reported that they have asked notaries to draft a declaration that contains the same statement but is in a form that is acceptable to them, and submitting that with a letter of explanation.

So, you think that it's ok to translate the declaration and notarize it and then translate it back in English?
