Hi people,

Has anyone filled up post ITA profile this way?

Marital status - never married/single
Has xxx been ever married or in a common law relationship? - yes
Previous partner information....
How did this relationship end? - ended the common law relationship.

Because me and my ex lived together for 2+ years and we applied for visa together once - it wasnt approved, the application was returned back incomplete. I wanted to fill my profile truthfully so I provided all the information. Do I need to provide that the common-law relationship was ended? we never signed anything, we just broke up. Can anyone help? Thank you

You need to provide each and every detail about your life. And since you both applied together before then they will definitely have your information on file. So yes you should provide all details.

Which I did. This is from CIC website regarding common-law:
That means living together for one year without any long periods where you did not see each other. Either partner may have left the home for work or business travel, family obligations, and so on. However, that separation must have been temporary and short.

A common-law relationship ends when at least one partner does not intend to continue it.

Thats directly from CIC

Regular marriage is ended legally. Common law isn't. It ends when you stop living together, no lawyers needed, so I don't have any confirmation that it ended. That shouldn't be a problem? right?

Right. It's not a problem. You just state that it ended, and you or the other person moved away.
