Hi all,

Just about to submit my application for PR. I have a common law partner here in Canada and am not sure whether to put accompanying or not accompanying as he is a Canadian citizen and therefor does not need to really be on my application.
I would rather not fill out all of his information as I don't see how this is necessary to my application.

Any information regarding this topic or previous experience would be appreciated.

Thanks

Sarah :)

Hi Sarah!

I am in the same situation. And getting more and more confused. I spoke with an immigration lawyer who said that a Canadian citizen is NOT an accompanying common law. Now I am working together with an immigration consultant, who says that YES, even a Canadian citizen is considered accompanying. Have you received any answer on that topic yet?

@everyone: Help would be very much appreciated! Thank you!

Cheers,

Marcus

Hey I rang CIC and they said no to clicking accompanying me :) because they're already here and a citizen they're not supposed to be on the application as accompanying. CIC have been great with any questions I've had, takes a little to get through but helpful when you do!
