So i met my gf online a year ago (1st anniversary is tomorrow! :D)
she is currently 17, I am 19
I went and visited her in may, she lives in New Zealand

Now we want to get married and for her to come live here with me in Canada
we aren't exactly loaded with cash so we are looking at buying a one way ticket for her

we would get married the day she lands, and since she is 17 she has gotten the permission form signed by her parents

so what do you think the border people will say when she trys to get in? will this proof that we are getting married and going to apply for PR enough to satisfy them? will the just give her a visitor visa in the meantime? or will this not be good enough for them

please please please help however you can. she is supposed to be coming here soon and we need to be certain she will be okay

thank you :)

Her purpose is to visit.
IMO She really needs a return ticket to help prove that she will visit and not stay.

Well no :(

her purpose is to stay. I wanted to know if the fact we are getting married and getting her PR would allow her entry with intent to stay

would it be better to lie and say she is going to leave?
could I just buy her a cheap ticket to the usa? or do they want to see she has plans to go all the way back to nz?

She cannot just move here, that is what being a permanent resident is for; she is a visitor.

Many people visit Canada (for up to 6 months), and then decide that they want to remain in Canada. Applying to extend their stay is possible.
There is no law in Canada that states a visitor cannot change your mind during a visit :)

The IO will be the one who decides.

Be very careful about lying.

I suggest that both of you agree that she is coming to visit, so that both of you can explore your relationship.

Leave the conversation about getting married until later in the relationship ;)

I am not suggesting that you get married so she can live here.
A round trip ticket is a good idea, they are not much more expensive than a one way.
When you get to 20 posts PM me :)
