Coming back from holiday in RUSSIA holding a Temporary Work Permit

Hello everybody,

I am currently living in Canada holding a Work Permit valid until 2017, and I already applied for PR under CEC class.

I am planning about going to Russia for a couple weeks for vacation next month and then back home to visit my family in Italy for two more weeks.

A friend of mine told me that it could be a problem for me re-enter Canada when the border officer will see that I have been to Russia and that I could be denied entry because of that.

Is this true? Has this ever happened to anybody? It would be a great disappointment for me because I have had this Russian dream for a while now... should i call CIC and ask?

I don´t have such experience, but there´s no basis for that.

Work permit means that you can reside legally in canada for duration of work permit.

It doesn´t mean you cannot travel outside Canada !!! Or you cannot have vacations outside Canada !!!

What may be reasoning against this ?? Just common sense !!!
