I have conflicting advice on this issue.

Is it better to make color copies of travel documents (Passport) and IDs (PR Card, Driver's License etc.) OR just make regular black/ white copies?

I don't want to make an impression that I am overdoing it, on the other hand, if this is allowed then I may go with it.

Any advice?

All my IDs and passports I did color copy, I thought it has to be color copy. I hear that first time from one of my friend which is an immigration consultant. personally I think in color copy everything is more clear than black and white, and some stamps are in light color so it might not be very clear with back and white copy.

good luck

I sent color copies, though I haven't heard back yet after 50 days. I think it should be fine.

Just regular copies to be sent with application. When they send RQ, then they ask for color copies of every single page of passport . They reason behind that is that some stamps on passport or sometimes not very clear, but for DL or health card a regular copy is fine and they will check the originals during interview.

In my case, my expired Passport has many stamps for the traveling that I did in the first few years after immigrating to Canada. Three exist/entry stamps were in non-English, so I had translation done for those pages - the interpreter/ translator used color copies of those pages. So, Now is it OK to make regular copies of my new and expired passport and send everything together?

I provided black and white copies for my pr renewal and it was fine and then I presented also black and white copies to immigration officer following the test. She was fine with it. I think as long as the stamps are legible and clear I do not see any problems. I do not think color copies are mandatory unless it is RQ.
