A co-signer of sponsorship is also a co-sponsor. A co-signer or co-sponsor for a spousal application is not permitted.
You need to show only proof of what you have earned because there is no LICO for spousal sponsorship and are minimum income exempt. However, you should be able to show that you have a job because you do sign an "undertaking" to provide for the basic needs of your sponsored spouse.
