co-sponsor residing outside canada

Hi,
I am an un-employed permanent resident of Canada and my husband is a canadian citizen working and residing in the US. I would like to sponsor my father with my husband as my co-sponsor. My question is would I be able to sponsor my father IF the co-sponsor resides outside Canada.

His income earned while residing outside Canada doesn't count to LICO, so there wouldn't be much point to add him.

The only way his US income would count, is if he was living in Canada and commuting daily across the border to work in US.
