co-signer,,,what is that mean?

hi i do understand a little that a co signer is a person who is gonna help the first sponsor to take financialy care of the applicant,,,is this right?
im gonna be sponsored by my wife who is canadian

For spousal, there is no co-signer. That is for sponsoring parents and adopted children.
