Hi guys,

I have a question regarding to co-op visa. Recently ( one week ago) I got my Co-op visa through my School. Co-op is a one year program. Now, I have both my study and work permit.
I couldn't find the job in one week so my school withdrew me from the co-op program and I am not a student of my school anymore. Does it effect on my visa? Is it possible that IRCC cancel my visa?
If my school report to IRCC that she couldn't find the job and not a student anymore, what will happen?

Thanks
Shaghayegh

What do you mean you are not a student anymore? Are you going to continue next semester or what is your plan?

They said they would withdraw from the co-op program and I would not result in their student count of the quater.. But at the same time they said they would add me back once I find a job. I'm not sure what they are doing is right / legal. They said they do this because they would need to not report me as a student if I'm not working during the co-op program.

It might be legal but it doesnt sound right what they are doing, what school is this? Is it some shady private school?

Your info is not clear, ircc would not cancel any visa/permit because a school removed you from coop.

There are 3 different things;
Study permit - gives you legal status in Canada.
Coop permit - Allows you to work full time ONLY if the work is part of the studies you are doing.
Visa/TRV - The sticker in your passport that is only for traveling to Canada.

However in order to follow the rules for your study permit you have to continue being a full time student, not being registered in school CAN lead to study permit being revoked but if you are on break or transitioning to new course/school it is generally allowed.

So the big question is are you a full time student at the moment? Can you ask your school for a letter of enrollment right now as proof that you are a student there? If not you have to make a plan and get into another school with another admission and update your myCIC account with new school info.

Also even if this break is temporary it will have negative effect on your post grad work permit if your school is elligable for that but again if its some private college it might not be.
