Hello,
I'm on closed work permit, employer shuts down the business

I've already found someone who want to hire me, however, what are my options to keep in touch, show commitment, prepare to new job, so I can jump full throttle once LMIA received?

As it may take potentially several months (I hope for global stream which should be weeks), it's kind of weird and against common sense to just like tell your boss "Ok so see you in 3 months" and leave him, he also don't know am I serious, am I going to go home while he's waiting, I want to demo my skills in action to keep him motivated etc.

So what are my option to actually be engaged with potential employer, even without payments (I'm earning enough freelancing to sustain myself), something like:

1) Unpaid internship

2) Contracting part time work? (but probably impossible on Closed work permit?)

3) Any other options?

Please let me know what options are there to keep in active touch with your employer while waiting for LMIA

Thanks!

1) Illegal

2) Illegal

3) The only option I see is for you to return to your home country and work remotely for your new employer from there while you wait for the LMIA to be processed and approved.
