Hello all, I posted a month or so ago about my wife's rejected visa. After a personal intervention from the Ambassador to Iraq, the file was re-opened.
I have found out from my member of parliament that the eligibility and criminality has passed on May 2nd. They stated that the only thing remaining was a security check. I have been waiting since early May for that to complete and it still hasn't.
I decided to reach out to CIC and they stated:
"this review is being done by outside agencies and hence, we do not control the processing time and are unable to expedite the file"
Does this mean Canadian agencies outside of CIC or by agencies in the country of origin (in this case Iraq)?
Does anyone have any insight into this process or situation? I was hoping to have everything approved by June 28th as we have already booked our flights to Canada (returning to Iraq in August).
