Hello everyone,
I'm in a Lil bit of hot soup right now so decoded to write here and get some advise and hopefully answers or help.

I had applied for citizenship in 2009 having lived there for more than 6 years. Yes i know i made a mistake and didn't apply earlier. I was childish and didn't have anyone to guide me down the right path. Anyways so i applied. I was caked for my tests which i did and I'm pretty confident i passed. But i still got the questionnaire which i also did.

In may 2010 i moved to Kenya having married my boyfriend from Canada. (He is a Canadian citizen). I now live in Kenya. In Dec last year i received a letter to meet a judge but i war unable to attend and sent a letter explaining why as per their request. In feb 2 i received another letter asking me to seea judge on 12 feb. Just 10 days before. I wanted to go for it but unfortunately I've had my purse stolen and so i lost my PR card and all my cards so i had to apply for a travel document asu had been informed by the consulate here when i informed them of the theft. I applied but unfortunately gave still not received my travel document. I wrote another letter to cic stating all this, attached the police abstract showing the theft, attached the travel document application. However they have closed my file.

What is the best way forward? My whole maternal family is Canadian so is my husband's and his family. My kids are also Canadian because of their father.

What can i do? What's the best way forward?

Thanks in advance for your help.

With two missed interviews - I don't think there is anything you can do and it's not surprising CIC has closed your file. You should consider that application dead. You'll have to wait until you return to Canada and have lived in Canada for a few years (to meet the citizenship residency requirement again). Then you'll be able to submit a new citizenship application and start the process again from scratch. Note that the residency requirement is going to be changing to 4 out of 6 years sometime this year. You will fall under this new rules.

And just to add, since you are living with your Canadian citizen spouse outside of Canada, your PR status is safe. So there will be nothing stopping you from returning to Canada with your family once you're ready. You don't need citizenship to return to Canada.

I guess the best advice you can get is via;

1. CIC
2. lawyer

It is counted for PR purposes, but not citizenship.
