Probably an hour including your luggage. But depends on how many planes have landed at that time and the length of time you have to wait in the immigration line.

Is this about making a connecting flight or just being collected by friends?


In general
Check how many international flights are arriving within an hour of your flight (30 mins either way) - you can do this for a similar day at the airport web site.
If there are only one or two flights allow a minimum of 60-90 minutes, if there are three or four flight allow a minimum of 90-120 minutes.
The process is variable, it takes as long as it takes, there is nobody who can give you a set time.

The only guarantee is that if you are in a rush it will take longer, LOL
Plan for longer, enjoy the moment

I just calculated as per what baloo said and it seems Vancouver Intl Airport receives approximately 6 flights an hour that is one every 10 minutes and is second to Toronto's Pearson Intl Airport that receives about 11 flights an hour on average.

can it be more than 3 hours too, actually i am asking cause i have to go to kamloops which is further 5 hours away from Vancouver..so i was charting out my itinerary , so that i can reach kamloops on time..when its not late night.

yeah waiting for 3 hours or more can be tiring experience after long flight , especially if you have to travel further.. to reach the university city destination.

To be honest, if it is an afternoon arrival after a long flight, I would be tempted to get a place to stay in an area near the airport.
That way you can celebrate your arrival and then finish your journey the following day.

Of course the choice is yours.

This is a good suggestion. First day of Canadian experience should only be good after such a long journey and waiting line.
