CLB level 10 points with IELTS, is it possible?

Reading through the requirements, again, how can one person achieve points for CLB level 10 (34 for people applying alone, or 32 for people with spouse), if the equivalency charts on CICs website only gives you points up to CLB level 9 (and above)?

For instance, my scores are:

- speaking: 8.5 | clb 9
- listening: 7.5 | clb 8
- reading: 7.5 | clb 9
- writing: 7 | clb 9

If the charts show CLB 9 and ABOVE, will I be credited points for CLB 9 (29) or CLB 10 and above (32). Clearly CLB 10 falls within the category CLB 9 and above...
*take into consideration I'm applying with spouse.

Does any1 know anything about it?

I knew some1 would mention ieltsessentials.

Even though IDP education (which owns ieltsessentials website) is one of 3 organizations responsible for IELTS (the other 2 being the British Council and Cambridge English Language Assessment), it's not the government of Canada. All of the "rules" should be referred to what's been informed on the OFFICIAL communication's channel, which is CIC's website.

Under CIC's website, there is no mention of a CLB level 10 for IELTS. The higest CLB score for IELTS would be 9 and above.
10 sits right above 9, correct?

So, unless CIC updates its website with this information, on january 1st, the official source for IELTS - CLB points conversion is the one online right now.

And, as my 3 of my IELTS scores are 9 and above, I want points for ABOVE! CLB 10 is above CLB 9, and CLB 10 gives me 3 more points on every ability I score CLB 9 and above.

See what I'm trying to say? If this indeed is a mistake, I'm down on 9 points (3 less points in speaking, 3 less in reading and 3 less in writing).

Instead of 109 points from my language abilities, I'd be assigned 118 points...

If CIC creates a CLB10, there will be a CLB10.

You do have a point. It's weird because they provide CELPIP CLB10, but not IELTS equivalent. That means IELTS takers are impossible to score max on language tests but CELPIP takers can? doesn't sound right to me.

(unless Canada is penalizing people who don't support home-grown Canadian test and instead go for a British one [joke] )

Actually CLB-IELTS mapping belong to a program independent of CIC.
I believe the mapping has been there forever but just never got mentioned since immigrants will rarely score CLB10.

Even people who speak English as first language needs to take IELTS. Besides, look at the IETLS/CELPIP forum and see how many people got 8+ in all sections.
