My citizenship certificate shows my name as A C

Last Name: C
My Passport shows it as A B C
Given Name: A B
Last Name: C
Can I drop B from my passport so it becomes A C? just like all other documents show my name as A C.
I wonder how when i was little my dad added the B in the passport in the first place. (as its not allowed to deviate from the name thats on the citizenship card/certificate)
