Hello,

This is for my spouse. We have obtained a PCC dated 12May2016 for Australia where she had resided from Dec2008 till Feb2012. She has never visited or resided in Australia after 12May2016.

This Australian PCC dated 12May2016 stands expired as on today ( one year validity of document). We are planning to upload all the documents in the coming two weeks.

Is a renewed Australian PCC required?

If yes, can you please link me to the reference-as the CIC website currently mentions the following and we fulfil this requirement:
"If you need a police certificate from a country or territory and:
  • are currently living there, or received the police certificate before leaving, the police certificate must be issued within six months before you apply.
  • have lived there in the past, the police certificate must be issued after you last lived in that country or territory."
Eagerly looking for guidance in this matter.

Thank you!

Sincerely,
RD

Going by CICs definition, you definitely don't need it - is it too difficult to procure one? If yes, then maybe you leave the one you have, write a LOE and mention you can get a new one if needed. Or start the process, upload your docs (if near the 90 day limit) and provide proof and send the PCC once you get it via CSE.

If easy to get, then maybe you should especially since the PCC says it is not valid - but I do not understand why it would say so - in any case your spouse never entered Australia after that date.

Difficult to take a call - if this is the only document, I would go ahead and get a new one - you don't want to lose out just on this one after having come so far in the process
