Hello all,
This is my first post but have been using this forum for a long time now, and I want to thank everyone who take their time to answer.
I have a profile under EE and I'm looking into ways to increase my score (at the moment 438). I'm a musician who works as a self-employed in a contract basis, however, the tricky parts starts here:
1. I work only from September to June (just like any other music organizations do, and just like schools do). It is my understanding that FWS needs to be one year continuous experience. Because of the nature of my work, would that still be considered continuous? I have basically 2 months of non-paid 'holiday'.
2. During the months of July and August I work outside of Canada. Over the course of 8 years I would be able to accumulate 1560 hours of work. Would this be eligible for foreign work experience? If not, what would be the maximum numbers of years that a part-time experience could be spread to? (CIC website says only: full-time or equivalent part-time: eg. 2 years of 15 hours/week - but does not clarify if it has to be maximum two years).
3. I started to work with my organization in 2015, but at this time I was enrolled as a Doctoral student and held a Student Visa. CIC is clear when they say that they will not consider work experience while on a student visa, however somehow I am in the hopes that a doctoral program would fall in some sort of case specific rule, since the course is all based in research, other than attending classes full-time.
Thanks!
