I am currently filling my OINP PNP application having gotten the EE NOI on Feb 8 2022.
I work for a company I co-founded 8 years ago. The company is a corporation (not a sole proprietorship nor a partnership) and I am just like every other high level staff in the company. The company pays my pension, salaries and I have a well defined role. I work full-time and get paid monthly salary.
My HR has written a reference letter as requested and I have pulled salary payments evidence in my bank statements.
My question is do I still need to provide the documents requested for self employed? By the evaluating rule, am I an employee or self-employed? For both OINP and EE.
I read on many places online that in Canada, corporation owners are not regarded as self-employed. They are seen as both an employer and an employee. The tax body doesn't allow them file as self-employed.
Thanks.
