Hi
me, my husband and my kids are currently in canada on visitor visa. We are from Philippines. I am about to apply for refugee status as i am running from a well founded danger and fear from my country. I have prepared all the necessary documents supporting my claim. But i have a medical history which i guess may disqualify my claim. i have had a surgery like 6 years ago which removed a benign tumor from my colon and i am doing well since then. but recently a blood test for another purpose ( i.e just for checkup ) reveals that i have above the normal range for my ggt and sgpt result of my liver profile. then further scanning shows some lesions on my liver and the doc's are saying that it is related to the tumor that has been removed six years ago. the reason for my existnace is the type of tumor is very slow growing and still i am not feeling pain or obesrving any complain. i am active and working as any one. for the type of tumor i have had repeated radiation treatment and the doc's said i will have yearly check up only from now on. does this may make me rejected from the pr? i read at some place that asylum seekers within canada are exempted from the medical condition ""excessive demands on the Canadian health care system" is that true?
please help
