I haven't worked since having kids, but prior to that I was a school music teacher. I worked at a school for several years. Should I put in each year separately, taking the summer break out? Any other teachers get pr? Would love advice on how to list this!!! We are at 411 points and I want to be sure it's all correct.

I was a music teacher with several music schools. I did not have to deal with summer breaks etc. If you generally have over 30 hours per week for lets say 4 years in the same school, you do not have to put in each year separately.

Just get a letter from the school stating you worked " X " number of hours from year " xxxx to xxxx " with a summer break each year and this would do.

If your hours changed from month to month, then it would be better to put in each month/year else there are no problems.
You get maximum points for 3 years of work experience, if have more than that with other jobs, don't bother getting reference letters for those since you wont get any additional points(you should however mention them in the previous history section).

Thank you for your reply! So what I should do is basically just put the date that I started and the date that I finished in the express entry profile? And then mention the summer break in the letter?

I would be much easier to give you my thoughts , if you could specify the exact dates and number of hours worked at this school.

I worked standard school hours (I think 7-4) for 2 school years, with an 8-week summer in between.

You will get 1 year and 10 months of experience for this job. Go ahead and just add start and end date on your express entry profile. You can ask your employer to mention the summer break in the reference letter along with all the other required details specified by IRCC.

Thank you so much!

I am working on the letter request from my employer. I don't know the exact dates of my summer vacation. But school years in the US are 180 days. Should I ask him to write that or just say, "From this date to this date, less standard summer vacations"?
