Hi folks,

I just took the citizenship test by using my cell phone since my laptop didn’t work at all. Today was the last day of the test that I need to take; I used my cell phone even though I knew that cell phones are not allowed to take the test.

Do I have to email to an immigrant officer to explain why I used my cell phone and that I didn’t cheat on the test?

You had 21 days to try to get a solution.
the point of using the computer is so you can get the test proctored, I don’t know how that wouldve worked using your phone.

what exactly are you going to say to the officer: “I swear I didn’t cheat”
Most probably they will make you retake the test

Why your laptop didn't work? Mobile phones are not allowed as per the instructions to the test.

This is not good.

You can't take the test on mobile probably because the app isn't designed to take pictures at random times during the test on mobile camera.

So, it is very likely you'll have to re-take the test. If you have to re-take the test, you will be invited to a MS-Teams session and you'll have to take the citizenship test orally. The IRCC official will show you a PowerPoint presentation with the questions and you will have to provide answers orally. The same time limit and the same number of questions as the regular written test apply.

Hi
I don’t mean to add to your stress or frustration but I guess my question here would is there a reason why you didn’t get your laptop fixed sooner? And why you waited until the final day to take the test.
Like I said I’m not here to add to your stress but I’m curious as to why you didn’t take action sooner for something that let’s be frank….you have invested a lot of time and money into?

Do you think I need to email them to let them know that I took the test by using my cell phone and ask if I can take the test again?

This is probably THE most ridiculous thing I ever read on this forum… Instructions ARE clear and with SO many ppl awaiting for test invites nowadays, you’ve got ppl who doesn’t care.

Well, they are going to know either way, I guess. I'd just sit tight and see what happens.

If you get a re-test request, you can take the test again.
