Citizenship Test: 3 types of Study Plan to follow

This study guide is based on personal experience and is meant to help test takers prepare efficiently. However, every learner is different, and you should adapt the plan to fit your own study style and comfort level. Use these recommendations as a guide, but ultimately, follow what works best for you!

Citizenship TEST Study Plan : HEAVY , MEDIUM and LIGHT

HEAVY Study Plan (Recommended – Learn a Lot & Stay Engaged!)

This plan ensures thorough preparation with four rounds of revision, using Discover Canada, mock tests, and video resources.

Days 1-4: Initial Reading
  • Day 1: Read first 10 pages of Discover Canada.
  • Day 2: Read next 10 pages of Discover Canada.
  • Day 3: Read next 15 pages of Discover Canada.
  • Day 4: Read next 15 pages of Discover Canada.
Tip: Download the Citizenship Test App (citizenshipapp.ca). It has tons of well-organized mock tests and prep material. Subscription costs less than approx. 3 CAD per week.

Action Step: After completing the first full reading, attempt 1 mock test.

Take the notes of any question which you are getting wrong.

Days 5-6: First Revision
  • Day 5: Revise the first 25 pages of Discover Canada.
  • Day 6: Revise the next 25 pages of Discover Canada.
Action Step: Attempt 2 mock tests after completing the second full reading.

Days 7-8: Second Revision
  • Day 7: Revise the first 25 pages of Discover Canada again.
  • Day 8: Revise the next 25 pages of Discover Canada.
Action Step: Attempt 5 mock tests after the third full reading.

Days 9-10: Final Review & Intense Practice
  • Day 9: Revise 30 pages of Discover Canada.
    • Attempt 3 mock tests after this revision.
  • Day 9: Read the remaining 20 pages of Discover Canada.
    • Attempt 5 mock tests after this.
Day 10: Speed-review 500 practice questions
Day 11: Test Day – Final Sprint

✅ Go to yourlibrary.ca and practice all the questions available there. You should be scoring high at this point.

✅ Attempt any remaining mock tests.

✅ Take the test with confidence!


MEDIUM Study Plan (Balanced Approach – Less Revision, Still Effective!)

This plan reduces revision rounds while still covering Discover Canada thoroughly and using mock tests for reinforcement.

Days 1-4: Full Reading
  • Day 1: Read first 15 pages of Discover Canada.
  • Day 2: Read next 15 pages of Discover Canada.
  • Day 3: Read next 20 pages of Discover Canada.
  • Day 4: Read next 20 pages of Discover Canada.
Action Step: After completing the first full reading, attempt 5 mock test.
Make sure to write down the questions you are getting wrong.

Days 5-7: First & Only Revision
  • Day 5: Revise first 30 pages of Discover Canada.
  • Day 6: Revise next 30 pages of Discover Canada.
  • Day 7: Revise final 20 pages of Discover Canada.
Action Step: After revision, attempt 5 mock tests.

Days 8 Intensive Practice

Day 8: Watch the 500-question video at 2X speed (YouTube link).
Day 8: Attempt 10 mock tests.
Day 9: Test Day Prep

✅ Go to https://www.yourlibrary.ca/citizenship and practice all available questions.

✅ Attempt remaining mock tests.

✅ Take the test with confidence!



LIGHT Study Plan (Fast-Track – Quick & Efficient Preparation)

This plan is optimized for speed, focusing on a single reading, targeted revision, and intensive mock testing to ensure you're ready quickly.

Days 1-4: Full Reading
  • Day 1: Read first 15 pages of Discover Canada.
  • Day 2: Read next 15 pages of Discover Canada.
  • Day 3: Read next 20 pages of Discover Canada.
  • Day 4: Read next 20 pages of Discover Canada.
Action Step: After completing the first full reading, attempt 10 mock tests.
✅ Tip: Write down questions you get wrong and review them regularly.

Day 5: Video Practice
  • Watch the 500-question video at 2X speed → YouTube Link.
Action Step: Attempt another 10 mock tests.
✅ Tip: Continue tracking incorrect answers and revisit weak areas.

Day 6: Quick Revision
  • Rapidly review all of Discover Canada. Focus on areas where you made mistakes.
Action Step: Attempt 10 more mock tests to reinforce learning.

Day 7: Final Sprint & Test Day
  • ✅ Go to yourlibrary.ca and practice all available questions.
  • ✅ Attempt any remaining mock tests.

Trust the process; Citizenship test is serious and we all know we are stressed.

I recommend Heavy Plan - This will make sure you will pass the test without stress, plus it could give you time while you are working.

Additionally you will enjoy the process.

Updates:

Discover Canada has 50 Pages of study material and not 70 which I assumed in my above post.
