Hi All - I will appreciate if anyone can advise on below situation.
If some one on a PR Status from January 2015 to January 2019 (5 Years) and lived only 2 years, will he be eligible to renewed his PR for next 5 years from January 2019 to January 2023 and again lived for 1 Year till January 2020 on new PR so my question is after spending 1 year on new PR and 2 years on previous PR which will be 3 years, will he be eligible for Citizenship application or he need to spend 3 years on new PR to be eligible for Citizenship.

Already answered in the pr and citizenship sections

Answer the same PR card renewal dates are not relevant to citizenship application and you only renew a PR card you do not renew PR status which is a constant with or without a PR card unless renounced or revoked.

The important thing is at least 1095 days physical presence in. canada in the 5 years immediately prior to the citizenship application date. This can be made up of time before being a PR at one half day credit for each full day plus days post becoming a PR or all days after becoming a PR as long as is within the 5 years immediately prior to the application date.

Maybe a typo but Jan 2015 to Jan 2019 is obviously 4 years not 5

Also not sure if you are understanding of running total i.e. that after the first 5 years you need to constantly be meeting the 2 out of 5 year rule.

2015-2020: must meet 2 years
after that
2016-2021:must have lived in Canada 2 years
2017-2022:must have lived in Canada for 2 years
2018-2023: must have lived in Canada for 2 years.
