Hello All,

I would like to get some inputs from other members on the following question. Thanks in advance.

Regarding the language requirement : I am an IT professional , have been working since I came to Canada ( 2010). Very fluent in English ( reading and writing). I have not written any other language tests ( IELTS or CELP etc) , only spouse took during PR processing time. So, I don't have any other proof to show my language requirement. Both my under graduation and Master degree certificates from home country are in English , but it does not say say 'Medium is English'. Also , my mark sheets all are in English, but it doesn;t say the medium is English.

So, what I do now ? Due this reason, it is getting delayed ( To get a slot to take CELP tests, need to wait until end of October). Please suggest.

I think they need proof that the medium was English, however it's not entirely clear. Better be safe and either get a letter from your University stating that medium was English OR take a language test which is totally fail proof.

From the guide, the first bullet point indicates you need to provide proof, second indicates if the document is in a different language, then you need to provide a letter confirming the medium.

You attended a secondary or post-secondary education program in English or French, either in Canada or abroad.

  • A degree, diploma, certificate or official transcripts from a secondary or post-secondary education program showing you studied in English or French, in Canada or abroad.
  • If the original document is in a different language, include:
    • or French along with
    • an official translation of the original document and
    • the address and contact information (phone number) of the education institution
