Citizenship qualification

Hello All,

I am in Canada on my PR, but i entered Canada 3 years into my PR, which means i only have 2 years left. If i satisfy 730 days residency i know my PR will be renewed.

To apply for citizenship 3 years of residency is required, so my questions is

1. Do i have to maintain 3 years residency on the same PR (3 years within 5 year PR) or
2. Can i stay 2 years on my first PR and then another year on my renewed/extended PR and still quality for citizenship. Here residency is continuous
3. Also can it be total 3 year residency with some gaps or it has to be 3 years at a stretch ? below are examples
   1. I am in Canada from Jan 2019 to Jan 2021 and then again another year Jan 2023 to Jan 2024. For this example validity of PR is Jan 2019 to Jan 2024
   2. I am in Canada from Jan 2019 to Jan 2021 and then again another year Jan 2023 to Jan 2024. For this example i have 2 PRs 1st from Jan 2015 to Jan 2020 and 2nd from Feb 2020 to Feb

The residency obligation is 1095 days within the preceding 5 years of the application date, it doesn’t matter whether those 1095 days are consecutive or not.
