Hi, apologies if this question have been asked before. I'm Canadian born and trying to apply for mine n my 2 kids citizenship cert and Can passport for the 1st time since I've lived abroad all this while n both my kids were born abroad. Planning to move back to Canada this year.
Issue is my Canadian birth cert lists a different surname then all my current documents (current non Canadian passport, my kids non Canadian birth certs etc). My current documents uses my father's name as surname BUT my canadian birth cert shows my granddad's name as surname n my father's name as middle name. No idea why that happened
Can anyone pls pls advice how to go about this? I don't really mind using my surname as per birth cert for my Can passport n citizenship cert but am extremely worried this is gonna be an issue for my kids citizenship cert application since "mother's surname" is different bw my birth cert n their birth cert. Should i attach an affadavit stating those 2 names is the same person for both applications? Or attaching a letter explaining the differences is sufficient? Any help is very much appreciated!
