Hi,

Do I need to physically live in Canada to meet citizenship requirements of physical presence of 1095 days? Or can I just cross the border daily to Windsor and come back, since I am currently living in Detroit and just received COPR.

Thanks

any day that you spent in Canada count towards your physical presence for citizenship. (so crossing and staying for a few min do count as 1 day)

But if you planned to only cross border for 1095 days, then you may have problem providing other proof for your citizenship.

Also be prepared to declare all those days which may raise some concerns but you should technically be fine.

Would also expect some pushback from border agencies on both sides and likely some questions about what you are doing since your visit patterns will look suspicious. As already indicated you will have minimal proof of presence in Canada. As you can imagine the system in not meant to reward those who just cross the border for a short period of time every day.
