I applied for the citizenship test in March 2011,passed the test, but got an RQ,replied to it, and have been waiting for 20 months with no intimation from CIC. The officer at the citizenship test told me it will take 12-18 months to get a call from the judge. In this period, I have got my G liscence and bought a property.

Should i send a mail with an update to CIC.I approached a lawyer and he told to wait and donot write. Please advise.
If you agree that I should send a letter with updates do you have any sample letter.
Anyone having a similar experience. Please help as I am clueless on the subject.

What is ur local office?

After u submit ur RQ, it gets reviewed, if the officer feels that u need a hearing with a judge, then ur file gets in a lengthy queue. CIC call center are quoting 48 months for St clair office.

Buying a property and having a driver license will show that you have ur life centered in canada, but the judge is also interested in proving the physical residency of the 1095 days out of the last four years prior to ur application. Which I assume u provided in answering ur RQ.

You can mail a copy to ur local office. I'm not sure if this is beneficial, but have them with u for sure when they call u for the interview.
