Hi.
1. Is there any legal minimum salary requirement or amount of funds in the bank required for a citizenship application? A number of people have commented that being unemployed "looks bad" with regards to being able to support oneself, but what is the legal requirement regarding funds and employment? E.g. in the UK, there is now a minimum salary level for citizenship. What if someone spent 2 years travelling and getting to know Canada and a year doing odd jobs? Moreover, if the "intent to reside" clause is to be removed, won't a requirement to demonstrate current and future employment be illegal? So it is a question of having to meet a specific threshold for this, or are they looking to see that you are a high tax-paying immigrant?
2. Also do they check that the work you've done is in line with the NOC on the basis of which the PR was originally granted? E.g. if an engineer ends up working as an English teacher?
