Quick back story:
I am an American and My husband is Canadian by birth since our son was born in the States as I was high risk and had medical insurance, we now want him to get his Canadian Citizenship as we are both intending on living here ( I applied for PR in January). I was confused about the Citizenship process for him.
1. Citizenship application requests two forms of ID : passport ( no problem can get once I have his SSN) and another form of ID with photo. The problem is he's 8 days old so he has no health card with a photo ( ours don't have photos), driver's license or the like. All he'd have would be his US passport, SSN and birth certificate.
2. Would I need a registration for birth abroad for him? It's confusing.
3. Can I ( or his father) even fill out CIT 001 for him? Some of the questions looked weird for an infant. I want to make sure we get this done right as I've already had enough hassle with my own PR application.
4. Do I need to provide our marriage certificate as well ( as his father is Canadian and not me and my son has his name)?
Thanks in advance.
