Hi, I am a Canadian citizen living outside of Canada
My daughter was born outside Canada , when I was Canadian PR , just before I became a Canadian citizen. Eventually I got Canadian Citizenship and moved out of Canada.
Recently I applied for Canadian Permanent resident status for her which was granted .
My question is when can she be eligible for citizenship application ?
ie does she have to complete a physical presence requirement of 760 days in Canada ? Or can she apply for citizenship as minors don't have physical presence requirements ?
Can someone pls answer ?
thanks in advance.

For some reason, the cbsa officer who did the landing said that she needs to complete 760days of PR before citizenship application, maybe he was misinformed?

Because she was born when I was a PR and not yet a Canadian citizen... so we had to apply for her PR

But you are a citizen now and your daughter can apply based on that and she doesn't need to be physically in Canada for at least 1,095 days (3 years) during the 5 year which is a requirement for a PR to become a citizen.

The only issue I see is didn’t you have to prove your intent to return to Canada to settle to get the PR for your child from abroad?

Yes, we do have the intent and that's the plan , but the question is regarding the 3yr physical presence requirement for children on PR , does my daughter need to fulfil the 3yr physical presence requirement to apply for citizenship ?? Or can she apply rightaway because minors don't need to fulfill the 3yr physical presence requirement?

No there is not a 3 year requirement but I would also not encourage applying right away upon your return so it is clear that you have resettled in Canada.
