Hello all, I hope everyone is doing well. I have a question regarding my application to become a Canadian citizen. My father is already a Canadian since 2008 and I now have a PR. So my dad wants to apply for my citizenship grant, however I am 17 years old and my dad is using the minor(2) process to apply for my citizenship. I saw that it takes around 19 months to get my citizenship grant which means I will turn 18 by that time, So I wonder does that mean that I my citizenship grant application will become invalid by the time I have to take my citizenship oath?

It said 21 months when I applied online in March this year. I’ve just cleared everything and am waiting for oath schedule.

as for when you turn 18, I can’t answer that.
