Citizenship eligibility

Hi,
I landed in Canada as immigrant on April 19 2010 and stayed continuously for three years ;never travelled outside Canada during last three years. Am I eligible to apply for citizenship on April 19 2013? Please advise.

It's always recommended to wait a couple of weeks after the date you become eligible to avoid any unncessesary delays like RQ.

You must meet the 1095 days in Canada requirements on the day before you sign your application so you could apply April 20th. However, better give it a couple of extra weeks or a month.

Yes. Give it an extra week only (if you truly never travelled) do not wait more. I applied with 200 extra days .. did not help. Good luck

Yes I truly never travelled outside Canada since the day I landed. Today is my 1096th day in Canada. By the way what is RQ? Is it an abbreviation for Residence of Quebec? By the wag I am from Alberta.

So if I apply on May 10th 2013 then I'll be counting the number of days I stayed in Canada for the last four years i.e. May10th 2009. If this is correct then my days in Canada will be equal to 1116 days and days outside Canada would be 344 days (1460 days - 1116days). Please confirm this correct calculation.

Second thing is that I become permanent resident on March 06, 2007. Stayed only 51 days (i know these days won't count for citizenship because they are older than immediate 4 years from the date of citizenship application) and went back and Stayed outside Canada for 1088 days and came back on April 19 2010. From now on I am in Canada and have never travelled outside Canada.

Third thing is that I got my PR card renewed in 2012.

Now here are few questions;
1-What date shall I mentioned in residence calculator form against 'A'? The date I become permanent resident which is March 06 2007 or when I came back on April 19 2010?
2- what is the difference between arrival date and the date I become permanent
residence?

Use the citizenship calculator for your calculation. Put the date you became a PR and arrival date as the same date. Then list your absence of 1088 days. The calculator will calculate your days.

It is possible to have a different arrival date than PR date if you arrived in Canada before becoming a PR. Say somebody who arrived in Canada more than 4 years ago as a student or a TFW and who gained their PR 2 years ago, they could apply for citizenship based on 2 years in Canada as a PR plus 2 years as not PR where each day would count as 1/2 day for citizenship requirements.

From your Answer it is clear now that I don't have to worry about the arrival date as it does not apply on me as I landed as immigrant in Canada and become PR and the was my first ever entry to Canada.
