Hi all,

I'm still waiting for my citizenship to be processed but I just wanted to know if the issuing of a citizenship certificate is already included in the $630 citizenship grant processing fee? Or do I apply and pay for that separately after oath taking(I believe it was $75)?

If it's the former, is there any option to NOT receive a citizenship certificate? Or does everyone receive a copy after oath taking?

Asking as I seem to recall having chosen a "don't send me a certificate" option somewhere in the application process, but I'm not sure if I'm just imagining things.

The fee you paid includes the fee for citizenship certificate. There is nothing you need to pay separately. I don't recall seeing any option that read "don't send me a certificate". I don't think there is such an option at all.

Congrats.

How long you have been waiting for the certificate and which office it was handling your application?

I highly doubt there’s an option to opt out of the citizenship certificate when you apply for a grant of citizenship, because that serves as the official proof of the grant. At an in-person oath ceremony, you would get it on the spot.

Could be the question that asks if information can be sent to the Elections Canada. There is an option to opt out of that. May be the OP has confused that with the citizenship certificate.

Plausible. I was also thinking they might have thought it was like the RFPF where they could opt out of paying it upon application and do it at a later date lol.
