Citizenship Certificate Replacement

Hello everyone, my first post here.

I lost my citizenship card and applying for a replacement (which is a certificate now).

Submitted my application in June 2019 via the HK embassy, received an email in November 2019 with UCI, and stating that my application was received in August, 2019. So this is the timeline:

June 2019 – submitted application via the HK embassy
August 2019 – application received
November 2019 – notification sent to me with UCI

It's been 7 months since application submitted in HK, and 5 months since application received by IRCC. Processing time here is 5 months (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/canadian-citizenship/proof-citizenship/after-apply-next-steps.html)

Is it normal? Does anyone have experience getting a replacement? Any information will be greatly appreciated, thank you all!

if you applied in hk, it is not 5 months. That's the average time in Canada and usa. you are looking at about 8 to 9 months and with covid, it's going to be even longer.

I submitted my application in June 2019, it's been almost a year now. Received in CPC August 2019, counting from that point also 9 months already.

But yes everything is delayed because of the virus. Hope things will go back to normal soon.

Same case here, i submitted my request for Citizenship replacement in Feb 2020 , I sent my Citizenship Certificates due to mistake in my name. I didn't receive an acknowledgement of receipt yet. I called the immigration many times and they said that the application is not on the system yet. At the beginning , when I called the Immigration call centre to ask about replacement of the certificate, the consultant advised me that It will take short time for correction however its almost 6 months now. I cancelled my flight due to this and wondering when I can get my corrected original certificate.
