Hi
In our last post, we mentioned that we had a daughter born to a Canadian citizen who didn't need to be included in the PR application. We're in the process of applying for a citizenship certificate for her through the London, UK office. However, given that the processing times look like they could be as long as two years for this, we have a couple of questions:
1) Will it be an issue if she doesn't have her citizenship certificate when she lands? She's got a UK passport so shouldn't have a problem travelling.
2) We understand that a citizenship certificate would be required to get her provincial healthcare. How do we get around this in the interim while waiting for the application to be processed?
3) Is there any way to get her a Canadian passport or validation of her status while the citizenship certificate is being processed? If so, what's the procedure?
Thanks in advance -- all the feedback has been extremely useful so far.
