Hi there
I applied for citizenship by descent based on the fact that my grandfather was serving overseas in WW2 at the time of my father's birth in the UK. My father does not currently have proof of Canadian citizenship.
I submitted my documents over 14 months ago through Canada House. They were sent to Canada in June last year. I was told in February:
" that the application has been placed in a queue for assessment by a senior officer because of a policy or legislative issue pertaining to the case. No additional information is available, and they are unable to provide processing times, as these vary on a case-by-case basis"
In May I was told that the application was still being processed. I was told that if I submitted an air ticket for travel to Canada within 6 months I could get the application expedited.
Has anybody come across this before? Will my application ever get resolved if I don't buy an air ticket....?
