Outland processing times for Lima average around a year; if he'd bothered to do just a little bit of research instead of just bitching and complaining to everyone about how "unfair" it is, his wife and son would have been granted PR before even coming to Canada last year, his son would be a citizen by now and they would have had health coverage ages ago. Now, because of his own stupid decisions, he is demanding special treatment. What an idiot.

A lot of Canadians might take it for granted that their children would be Canadian citizens when born abroad. I agree that this person may sound like a spoiled child. At least his son is peruvian and can travel, which is not always the case, and his PR application is in process.
However, there's something that doesn't seem right in this rule. All the G8 countries enable the transmission of citizenship through blood connection (under conditions sometimes but less restrictive than the Canadian law). There have been calls from the Opposition to change this rule to a more realistic one, like the obligation for the parent to live in Canada for X number of years (like in the US) in order to transmit citizenship to their children born abroad.

I read this article yesterday and honestly, he seems too arrogant. Who does he think he is? The Royalty? He should be thankful his family case is being processed. It is a matter of time... A good friend of mine went through the same situation. Their son got the PR then he became Citizen.

While I am not happy with the new law, we must respect it. What? There are thousand of people awaiting hopeless and he is F... complaining...

No one is above the law. Got to wait for the health access..
