Citizenship applied (PR about to expire)

Hi,

I have applied for the citizenship back in Dec 2014, and its In process at the moment.. and the last update:
Your file was transferred to the office responsible for your area on June 24, 2015. The office responsible for your area will contact you

I just noticed that my PR card is about to expire in October 2015 (2 months from now).. not sure if I should renew my PR or should i just wait and continue with this process?.. i'm pretty sure they will require my PC when I do the test.. so if its expired then they might not let me do the test?..

Since you are an applicant before Apr 1, 2015 your application is most likely to be processed faster. CIC has promised to claer all apps prior to Apr 1 before Mar 2016. Having said that if you want to travel from October till your Oath you will need your PR card. So only can decide if you travel often. You should be getting your test invite shortly and then you can decide whether you want to renew or not.

Thank you very much, I just called the Call Center and they said the same thing.. she said its not mandatory to renew your PR unless you wanted to Travel.
